How it works

CONDITIONS OF SALE & INFORMATION FOR ALL BIDDERS

PLEASE READ

Placing a bid confirms that you have understood and agreed to abide by these conditions of sale.

BIDDING: We encourage vendors to set conservative estimates. Reserves are normally 80% of estimate (subject to vendors’ reserves). The usual rules apply, and the successful bidder will receive the lot at one bidding step above the second highest bid. If only one bid is received the lot sells at Reserve. If two equal bids are received, the first bid received secures the lot. ‘Buy bids’ are not accepted.

A BUYER’S PREMIUM of 10% will be added to the hammer price of each lot.

There is no VAT.

We accept credit or debit cards (no charge), direct payment into our account or a signed blank sterling cheque (marked Not to Exceed etc). Cash (sterling notes) may be sent but at your risk! Invoices are due for settlement within seven days of receipt.

RETURNS: We try hard to give accurate descriptions, but mistakes happen occasionally, so we offer a No Argument Refund provided the lot is returned within seven days of receipt.

VIEWING: Under current Government guidelines, viewing at our home is permitted. Where possible requests for Postal Viewing will be met (viewer pays postage both ways). We are happy to scan lots and send scans by e-mail. We can also send photocopies for small lots (85p in stamps appreciated please). Please contact us to ask about viewing, scans, photocopies or more details about a lot.

DISPATCH OF LOTS: Goods will be sent by safest appropriate means, otherwise at purchaser’s risk. Please state on bid form if any special posting instructions. We aim to dispatch lots for successful bidders (or a note for unsuccessful bidders) within 10 days of the close of the Sale.  Thus all bidders will hear from us.

After the Sale closes we will not be able

to answer phone calls before Monday 30 October,

although we will try to acknowledge emails.
